The gift of Forgiveness
Sale Price: $0.00 Original Price: $0.00

This three-week series invites participants into one of the most misunderstood disciplines of the Christian life — forgiveness. Drawing from scripture, counseling psychology, and the lived realities of inner healing, the curriculum treats forgiveness as both a spiritual act of obedience and a clinical pathway to emotional restoration. Each session integrates biblical foundation with evidence-based therapeutic insight, recognizing that the soul and the nervous system are both held by the same God who heals.

Participants will leave with a renewed understanding of what forgiveness is and is not, the freedom to release what they were never meant to carry, and practical tools to walk this out in their daily lives.

Forgiveness is one of the most spoken-about and least understood graces in the Christian life. Over three Sundays, we will explore The Gift of Forgiveness — a clinical and biblical journey through what unforgiveness costs us, what forgiveness truly is, and how to walk in the freedom Christ has already purchased. Whether you are carrying something old or something new, this series will meet you where you are and walk you toward wholeness.

Biblical Formation: Scriptures: Colossians 2:6–7, John 15:4–5, Psalm 1

  • Biblical Formation: Start with key Scriptures on identity in Christ (e.g., Ephesians 1:3-14 – chosen, adopted, redeemed; Galatians 2:20 – Contrast orphan mindset (scarcity, self-reliance, fear of abandonment – e.g., prodigal son in Luke 15 before returning) with son/daughter identity (abundance, inheritance, intimacy with the Father – e.g., "Abba, Father" in Romans 8:15).

  • Psychological Maturity: Explain identity formation. Psychological Maturity: Link to shame vs. secure identity: Orphan mindset stems from unresolved attachment wounds, leading to performance-based worth (e.g., "I must earn love").Identity formation, Attachment patterns, Performance-based worth, Shame vs secure identity

  • Attachment patterns Link to performance-based worth. Contrast with secure identity: Rooted in inherent worth, fostering soul health and emotional regulation.

  • Boundaries against over-functioning: Leaders who overextend to prove worth burn out; instead, model Jesus' rest and delegation (e.g., Mark 6:31).

  • Orphan Mindset vs. Son/Daughter Identity

Part 1: The Cost of Building from Broken Roots

Reflection: Leadership: "What boundaries have you set (or need to) against overfunctioning when roots feel shaky?"

Secure Leadership vs. Approval Addiction

Biblical: Jesus' secure identity (e.g., baptism affirmation in Matthew 3:17) enabled boundary-setting amid criticism.

Psychological: Approval addiction as a performance trap; secure identity frees leaders to prioritize soul health.

This course elucidates how to differentiate God’s voice from that of the enemy, highlighting when soul wounds speak versus divine discernment and how to recognize suspicion. As a coach, minister, and mental health advocate, I strive to enrich, equip, and empower you with the knowledge and perspective necessary to navigate your life journey. We are beings composed of spirit, soul, and body, and being enriched, equipped, and empowered in all aspects is vital for maintaining good soul health.

Scripture emphasizes listening carefully—Proverbs 4:20-23 urges paying attention to God's words for life and health, while Proverbs 2:2 promotes tuning ears to wisdom. We will explore how to discern inner echoes through biblical principles, emotional cues, and spiritual insight, along with recent research on the soul, brain, and body.
